Uh-oh!

Well, I finally did it. I crashed my computer (missing/corrupt system file). That means no site updates, no artwork, etcetera. It's too bad, too, because I was working on figuring something out for the Disney Experience's tenth anniversary. Oh well. I couldn't come up with anything anyway, so this will give me some time to brainstorm.

I keep all of my files on my computer's secondary hard drive as well as an external hard drive (back-up). The main hard drive is what runs the computer, so if it has to be wiped, it shouldn't affect my files at all. I just have way too many important files that I simply cannot lose.

The computer should be fixed within the week, so it shouldn't interrupt anything. If I do have to make any site updates, I guess I'll just have to do it the old-fashioned way. I just hope it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg to get back to "normal."

"Just a quick update on my computer. I took it in to be fixed this morning, and I should have it back by tomorrow afternoon. Hazaa!

I usually take my computers to the company that builds them, but the entire chain closed last summer. The new place that I have found has about a 48-hour turn-around time, and they always try to restore the computer back to the way it was before it crashed. Other places just wipe the hard drive and re-install the operating system.

So, I won't have to re-install any software or personal files . . . hopefully. And, I don't have to wait a week or more like other places. As an added bonus, I don't have to make a 45-60 minute drive to get to this place. I have to pay a flat rate of $115, which is a little higher than I normally pay, but the saved repair time, gas, and software installation & customization is well worth the extra $10-15!

Keep an eye on the Disney Experience Site News for news about the upcoming 10th anniversary celebration. I think you'll all be pleased with what I've come up with."
